▷ Ocasio-Cortez Can’t Afford DC Apartment Until Congressional Paycheck Kicks in — Blames Electoral System ✅

All of your problems are caused by the system. At least that’s the case according to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

The newly-elected Democratic socialist from New York recently had an interview with The New York Times about her new responsibilities as the youngest member of Congress. In the interview, she brought up the apparent struggle of finding an apartment in Washington D.C.

Yet she claimed that her problem is not because of a lack of apartment availability, but that she couldn’t afford an apartment until he congressional salary starts in January.

“I have three months without a salary before I’m a member of Congress. So, how do I get an apartment? Those little things are very real,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

While she did admit that she and her partner had saved money, she still said it was a day-to-day struggle.

“We’re kind of just dealing with the logistics of it day by day, but I’ve really been just kind of squirreling away and then hoping that gets me to January,” said Ocasio-Cortez.

But ultimately the politician blames the system, not poor planning or the strain of temporarily budgeting on one income.

Ocasio-Cortez has claimed that she will not support Nancy Pelosi for Speaker of the House, rather pushing for a far-left speaker that will have a similar agenda to her’s.

Watch:

Starting in January, Ocasio-Cortez’s salary will be $174,000 per year.
