We Now Know Why Anti-Trump Rapper “21 Savage” Was Arrested by ICE

According to new information, a rapper known as “21 Savage” was recently arrested by ICE for being in the US illegally – an arrest which came just days following the rapper’s public criticism of President Trump.

In a statement, ICE said the agency “arrested unlawfully present United Kingdom national Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph AKA ’21 Savage’ during a targeted operation with federal and local law enforcement partners early Sunday in metro Atlanta.”

“Mr. Abraham-Joseph was taken into ICE custody, as he is unlawfully present in the US, and also a convicted felon,” noted the agency, pointing out the rapper’s previous felony conviction for drug-related criminal activity in the United States.

In an ironic twist, the rapper, whose real name is Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, was apparently an outspoken critic of President Trump’s immigration policies, frequently bringing the subject up during public performances.

Abraham-Joseph, who had been in the US illegally since 2009, was arrested by ICE just days after rapping about the subject of immigration and the ongoing border crisis.
